Refugee Scotland, Cumbernauld Theatre, Cornerstone House & NLEMA collaborated on a project to celebrate the positive improvement of Refugee’s lived experiences within North Lanarkshire
The festival was entitled RISE as a symbol of united efforts made by the community to embrace refugees and asylum seekers as ‘new Scots.’ A successful fun-filled day provided cultural foods, drinks, music and arts & crafts/games for all ages to enjoy!
Conversations were insightful and friendships were made as we headed into 2025 with a positive initiative to continue our work within the community for the betterment of BAME settlers in North Lanarkshire.
