Who We Are

North Lanarkshire Ethnic Minorities Association (NLEMA) is a community-focused, people-centred charity committed to advancing integration, inclusion, and social cohesion across North Lanarkshire. We support ethnic minority individuals, families, and groups—collectively known as New Scots—as they navigate settlement, access opportunities, and build meaningful lives within their local communities.

As a trusted grassroots organisation, NLEMA works to create a safe, diverse, and equitable environment where every person is empowered to participate fully in society. Our mission is grounded in the principles of human dignity, cultural respect, and community resilience, aligning with global standards upheld by leading international organisations.

We deliver high-impact services that respond to the evolving needs of migrants, refugees, and minority groups, providing support in areas such as integration, advocacy, wellbeing, and community engagement. Through our programmes and partnerships, we promote equal access to opportunities, strengthen cross-cultural understanding, and foster long-term inclusion.
