The conception of community change

Reflecting on 2024 as a year that brought the birth of NLEMA as the community spoke and we listened! Our board grew from a mere three (3) trustees to seven (7) in a short period of time, this proves that our community are hungry for change and involvement in the plight to better represent the individuals that form the demographics of a diverse community. Our societies are changing for the positive and we are always welcoming newcomers looking to settle in North Lanarkshire.

Growth Beyond Grief

Fear is a powerful weapon, especially if it is internally consuming oneself in a self-sabotaging manner. I for one can speak to being a victim of media propaganda, feeding into the negative narratives I was being exposed to by social media however, I was reminded of the powers that lie within the unity of community spirit. As many led in opposition of the intended far right political protest in Glasgow, my local community in North Lanarkshire raised a flag of support and security.

Combining cultures – MAY 2025

With feedback from our members and an overall consensus of the committee, we have decided to provide an 8-week programme that children and adults of all ages, religions and backgrounds can attend. What a pleasure it has been to engage with all these magical, innocent little imaginative people that we are learning so much from as they convincingly persuade us adults to reclaim our youth, if only for a few hours. I love your drive, energy and most of all every individual personality and character you bring to the project.
