“Since moving to North Lanarkshire, it has taken a while for me to get used to a different climate – social, educational and even the weather. I found it difficult at first to understand the best way to navigate resources for me to settle in Cumbernauld, but within time I found myself engaging with neighbours that were willing to help me find my feet. Now I am happy to say I have been welcomed by my community, and they all want to make sure I feel comfortable in the neighbourhood. It seems that I’m not the only individual that has concerns about the lack of after school activities available to children. Our community really needs to improve on providing social events that are more inclusive and speak to a more diverse community as we are growing as a multicultural society”
